Double-A side lands next week
Not content with his Redneck Manifesto and VisionAir work, Richie Egan is stepping back into his Jape shoes with a new single and album in tow.
Double-A side single 'Hands of Fire'/'Lying on a Deathbed' is set for release next Friday May 27 with new album Ocean of Frequency following in September.
Speaking on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2008's Choice Music Prize-winning Ritual, Egan explained just why it's taken him so long.
“I had thought that the follow up to Ritual was finished about three times so far, but I kept getting drawn back to writing more and more songs, trying to push my songwriting as hard as I could and see how many different styles and moods I could try out, to feel out the album.

"Eventually, I realised that you could just keep on doing that forever so I decided it was time to start letting these songs go for a walk around the place. ”
'Hands of Fire' was recorded in Black Box Studios in France while 'Lying on a Deathbed' was created at Egan's home with drums and guitar provided by none other than the Ivor Novello award-winning Conor O'Brien and has been described by Egan as "one long dying breath".
