The artist/producer grabs the prestigious gong
Jack Garratt has been named winner of the BRITs Critics' Choice Award.
The London-based artist and producer follows in the footsteps of Adele, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith in claiming the prize - a pretty decent roll-call, I'm sure you'll agree, and plenty of reason to think we'll be hearing plenty more from the youngster in the coming year and beyond.
Speaking about winning the award, Garratt said: “I am so humbled to have received this year’s BRITs Critics' Choice Award. To have been nominated alongside Frances and Izzy Bizu was already a huge honour and a testament to the calibre of new UK music. To have been given this award is truly mind-blowing, considering I am one name in a hugely exciting time for music in this country. Thank you to everyone who voted, it means so much to me.”
His first LP Phase drops in February, but - quite fantastically - just this week he announced a Dublin show for March, so we really don't have to wait long to check him out for ourselves!
