Yesterday in Madrid, Hinds was announced as the fifth winner of the 2017 European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA), the European music awards for emerging artists.
Starting out as a duo playing energetic garage pop tunes, Hinds caught the attention of UK record labels by the time they released their first two tracks.
Expanding into a quartet, Hinds performed at Eurosonic 2015 and continued to play all over Europe. Their debut album Leave Me Alone was released in January 2016.
On Friday, Walking on Cars were announced as the Irish winners of the EBBA. A total of ten EBBA winners will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The Awards Ceremony will take place on January 11 2017 in Groningen, as part of the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival.
