Hill Street, the affectionate ode to the early days of Irish skateboarding, hits selected cinemas from May 23.
Years in the making, the first ever film to examine the history of Irish skateboarding culture is finally ready for release.
Hill Street chronicles the evolution of the Irish skateboarding scene from its humble beginnings in the late '80s up until the present day. The film centres around the tireless work of Clive Rowen who single-handedly progressed the skate scene through the building of primitive ramps outside his shop Clive’s of Hill Street in Dublin's North inner city before graduating to a temporary skate park in the Top Hat Ballroom in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin
Clive's crowning achievement was perhaps managing to convince the Powell Peralta ‘Bones Brigade’ Team, including the legendary Tony Hawk, to visit the skate park for a now historic demo.
The film features interviews with key players in both the Irish and global skate community and features a slew of rare, never-seen-before footage.
