After it was revealed last week that UK police had opened an investigation into claims that the Hollywood mogul had allegedly raped a famous British actress, it has now been confirmed that a further three women have come forward to press charges.
English actress Lysette Anthony went public during the weekend to confirm that she is one of the women who has made an official complaint to Scotland Yard against Harvey Weinstein.
She is best known for her roles in Woody Allen's 'Husbands and Wives', the TV show 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet', the BBC sitcom 'Three Up, Two Down' and 'Hollyoaks'.
While Lysette’s alleged rape occurred in the 1980s, the other serious cases being investigated took place in more recent years, it's claimed.
"It is alleged that the man sexually assaulted a woman in Westminster in 2010 and 2011, and in Camden in 2015," police said in a statement on Sunday.
While another alleged victim said the American film producer assaulted her in Westminster in 1992.
A police spokesperson added: “Officers from the Met's child abuse and sexual offences command are investigating the allegations. There has been no arrest at this stage.”
Speaking yesterday to the Sunday Times, Lysette Anthony said: “He pushed me inside and rammed me up against the coat rack in my tiny hall and started fumbling at my gown. He was trying to kiss me and shove inside me. It was disgusting."
She tried in vain to resist. "Finally I just gave up. At least I was able to stop him kissing me,” she recalled.
”As he ground himself against me and shoved inside me, I kept my eyes shut tight, held my breath and just let him get on with it.
"He came over my leg like a dog and then left. It was pathetic, revolting, I remember lying in the bath, crying.”
