An evening of celebration is on the cards.
This Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic death of the much-loved and highly-respected Derek Nally. A hugely influential figure in the Irish music industry, Derek wore many hats, from promoter to manager and even beloved raconteur. Generous with his time, Derek was always on hand to offer advice and assistance to many of the country's upcoming bands and artists.
One act especially close to his heart were Ham Sandwich, who he personally managed. With that in mind, it's only fitting that the popular Meath outfit will headline a very special evening intended to celebrate the life and times of the great man this Saturday July 16.
Taking place in the intimate and unmistakable surroundings of Whelan's - a venue where Derek was a vital part of making it the musical force it is today - the night will see a host of fantastic acts pay tribute, including Jape, Pugwash, Goodtime, Blink, Valerie Francis, Barry McCormack, Ann Scott, Paul Finn of The Flaws and members of the Dublin Gospel Choir.
