The two online taxi services are offering half price fares for people affected by the Dublin bus strikes this Thursday and Friday.
There are stipulations to the deal, of course. Uber are offering half price fares to anyone who shares a taxi with colleagues or friends on the app. A spokesperson said: “The more friends or colleagues you get to share your journey with you, the less cars on the road and the cheaper your commute will be.”
Hailo's deal will be displayed on the app but will only be available only between the hours of 6AM to 7AM and 10AM to noon.

There are no extra trains being put on by Irish Rail, nor will there be any extra trams by the Luas to help with the increased demand, so Dublin City Council are advising people to sort out their travel plans early. All bus routes will still be in operation, despite calls for people to make them available for motorists to alleviate the inconvenience during the strike.
