Deborah Harry, Ike Turner, Shaun Ryder and De La Soul are among the guest artists on the forthcoming album by Gorillaz
Those most animated of popsters, Gorillaz, return on May 24 with their sophomore album, Demon Days.
A star-studded affair, it features guest appearances by – deep breath! – Deborah Harry, Ike Turner, Shaun Ryder, De La Soul, MF Doom, The London Community Gospel Choir and Dennis Hopper who takes care of spoken word duties on a track called ‘Fire Coming Out Of A Monkey’s Head’.
Other stand-outs include ‘Dirty Harry’, ‘Feel Good Inc.’, ‘Every Planet We Reach Is Dead’, ‘DARE’ and ‘Kids With Guns’, which is set to trigger an ‘90s hip hop revival with its sample of Salt-N-Pepa’s ‘Push It’.

The big change this time round is that Dan The Automator is out, and Jay Z/Linkin’ Park mash-up man Danger Mouse in. Where all this leaves Blur, only Damon Albarn probably knows.
