Catch a special screening of the critically-acclaimed Terri Hooley film and pledge your support to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland...
In a particularly shrewd move, the Queen's Film Theatre, Belfast will screen the superb Good Vibrations next Wednesday December 10 for the princely sum of just 13 pence. Yep, you read that right.
As the good people behind the event put it:
"13p is pretty cheap for a trip to the cinema, isn’t it? Yet that’s what we’re fighting for – the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to keep its existing budget, a mere 13p per person, per week. No matter what you’re into – music, dance, photography, literature, circus, theatre or community arts – the chances are the Arts Council has supported some of the events you’ve enjoyed over the last year.
"To raise awareness of the campaign we’re screening one of the finest films to come out of Northern Ireland in recent years, Good Vibrations. As a story of rebellion and resistance, of making it even when the odds are stacked against you, we think it’s a fitting accompaniment to the ‘13p for the Arts’ campaign. Films like this would not be possible without the economic support of funding organisations like ACNI and NI Screen. It’s time to send out message to Stormont, loud and clear – we value the arts and we say no to more arts cuts."

So protest - quietly during the film, now - at 1pm on Wednesday December 10 with your loose change and sign a petition postcard while you're at it.
