Raglans also have impressive showing.
George Michael jumped up from number three to top the Irish chart this week.
He had to fend off stiff competition from last year’s X Factor Winner Sam Bailey, who’s album The Power Of Love went straight in at two.
Completing the top three was the current Irish superstars Kodaline, who continue their impressive chart placings at three with In A Perfect World.
The other highest new entry into the chart was from Hot Press favourite Raglans who chalked up a very impressive entry at number five on the album chart, but blew everybody away to top the Indie Album chart. Congrats to them.
Hot Press met up with the boys recently, you can find that here [link]hotpress.com/archive/11284743.html[/link]
Also worthy of note was Irish band Friends Of Emmet, who placed just behind Raglans at number six with their album State Of Mind

Clearly with some much chart action for Irish acts, we are entering another golden age in Irish music.
On the singles side of things, new guys 5 Seconds Of Summer, who are supporting One Direction on tour this summer at their Croke Park dates, are at one with ‘She Looks So Perfect’
The top three is completed by Pharrell continuing to be ‘Happy’ at two, and Clean Bandit are showing consistent form holding on to the number three spot with ‘Rather Be’
Interestingly enough, there were no other new entries on the chart this week other than 5 Seconds Of Summer.
All in all, a quiet week for singles, and some major moves in the albums.
Check back with Hot Press next week for more.
