Sir Elton John is planning to play ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ at George Michael’s funeral, according to reports in the British tabloids.
The UK tabloids are speculating that Sir Elton John will play the same song that he once famously performed as a duet with George Michael back in 1991 at Wembley Arena.
Meanwhile, it’s also being reported that George Michael – who tragically died from heart failure at only 53-years-old – will be buried at Highgate Cemetery, beside his mother, Lesley, who died from cancer in 1997.
“George’s love for his mother remained as strong as it had always been, and he always said he hoped he would be able to be with her again. It’s what he would have wanted,” one source told The Sun. “George Michael’s family have a private plot where his mother is buried – and there is currently space within it for further burials.”
While, according to the Metro newspaper, two ceremonies could be staged – with one for close family and friends to say goodbye in private and a separate event for the singer’s fans.
