You're going to be seeing and hearing lots from Gav in Hot Press over the next little while...
Gavin James has been talking to Hot Press about the mutual admiration society he’s formed with Niall Horan who very kindly gave him a lift home to Dublin earlier in the month on One Direction’s private jet.
“On the way to Birmingham in the car and listening to Gavin James’ Live At Whelan’s; amazing album!” Horan tweeted having previously declared himself a Gav fan in 2013.
A few days later James tweeted a photo of himself and Niall on a Leer with the message: “Cheers for the lift back to Dublin buddy. My head was TOO large for that plane. Legend!”
“I took a screen-shot of my Twitter just to see how many extra followers the shout out gained me - it was a thousand or so in a couple of minutes!” James enthuses. “He’s great for doing it. Niall’s unbelievably sound and a massive music fan. He just texted me saying, ‘Do you want a lift?’ I was like, ‘Go on, it’ll be quicker than Ryanair!’ It was going from Luton, so I drove up to his gaff. It’s deadly because you don’t need a passport. I was shitting meself, though. Them planes are tiny but we got there in one piece. Niall’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but there’s not even a hint of arrogance. He’s just one of
the lads.”
Sam Smith, Glen Hansard, Jamie Lawson, Ed Sheeran, Kodaline and Gavin's patented method of bunking into gigs for free are all discussed in a mega interview that will be gracing the pages of Hot Press soon. And that's just for starters...
