In the bumper Christmas issue of Hot Press of 2015, we talk to Gavin James about his momentous year - and why he has to slow down when chatting to Ed Sheeran
In this fortnight's issue of Hot Press, 'King of the Bearhuggers' Gavin James talks Ed Sheeran, Electric Picnic and the rules of touring with Kodaline.
In an in-depth interview with the red-headed Dubliner, he tells Hot Press of the gigs that made his year - one of which left him "almost bricking it going on stage - we're talking almost passing out with nerves - but once I got stuck in it was great".
Also up for discussion is the difficult choice he had in releasing the video for '22', the anti-bullying song that was very close to the bone. "I had a terrible time in primary because I was shy and ginger and all the other stuff that kids would tease you about," he says.
And there's also the revelation that another flame-haired hero might need subtitles when they chat; the aforementioned Sheeran confessed he had trouble understanding Gav's rapid-fire delivery.

"Aw man, I sound like a leprechaun on speed. If I tell a joke in the States, I have to repeat it a couple of times before people start laughing."
