In the annual Best Of Dublin magazine the radio and tv presenter tells Hot Press what he thinks about the city
Eoghan McDermott has called for more civic spaces in Dublin. The presenter, who originally made his name as the back-stage reporter on The Voice of Ireland, is now one of RTÉ 2fm’s leading presenters, holding down the crucial drive-time slot on the national broadcaster’s second channel.
When asked what Dublin needed more of Mcdermott insisted, "Designated performance spaces, skate parks and diving areas for all the kids who jump in the Liffey in their wetsuits."
He seemed flabbergasted by some of the archaic rules, especially in South-County Dublin. "You're not even allowed roller skate the pier in Dun Laoghaire. Madness! Nobody has skated over the edge right?"
In the annual Best Of Dublin magazine, Eoghan also discussed his favourite neighbourhood in the capital - spoiler alert it's Ranelagh - and talked about his favourite restaurants in the city. The presenter mentioned he had been "very impressed by Union 8 out in Kilmainham, the food is adventurous but hearty, fancy but accessible - a real treat."
However, it wasn't just the food that impressed Eoghan. "The owner Padraig is so handsome, both males and females swoon over him."
