The world-famous composer will play at the 3Arena this fall.
Composer Ennio Morricone will play his final Dublin show this fall, at the 3Arena on Saturday September 23. He is known for his work on the film scores for such classic movies as Once Upon a Time in the West, Cinema Paradiso, A Fistful of Dollars, and The Untouchables. His music from the film The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is listed as number two on the Top 200 ranking of best film soundtracks ever composed. He has been nominated for six Oscars, and finally won last year for his work on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's film The Hateful Eight. He is the only film composer in history to have received an honorary Academy Award for his lifetime achievements in the film industry.
Morricone announced the tour with a statement, saying that returning to Dublin for this last show is necessary for him as he comes to the end of his career at age 90. “I have been moved by the passion for my music and the appreciation shown by Irish audiences on previous visits," he said. "I must play one final show in Dublin before I retire. I expect this to be an emotional and very special evening for all."
Morricone sold out his last 3Arena show, and tickets are currently available for the September gig through Ticketmaster. Don't miss this final opportunity to see the maestro on stage.
