Coinciding with the release of his final album, Cork musicians will play a charity fundraiser in honour of the late Elliott Smith
Worldwide tributes to Elliott Smith have taken place - now it’s time for Cork to pay its respects to the man who has been posthumously lauded by musicians such as Beck, Badly Drawn Boy, The Flaming Lips and Ben Folds.
Myles O’Reilly (Juno Falls), Ellison9 and Cork-based troubadour Ian Whitty are just some of the acts playing at The Lobby on October 27. The tribute gig will also feature Dublin-based Paul O’Reilly, Cork musicians David Nelligan, Dave Ferriter (of Mir), John Kelly (of The Fallen), Barry Haugh (of Wonderland), and Kilter, as well as Windings. Tickets are priced at €8 with all profits going to the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund, details of which can be found on www.sweetadeline.net

Meanwhile, Elliott Smith's final album From A Basement On The Hill is released on October 18 through Domino Records. Produced by Smith himself, the final mixes were carried out by close friends Joanna Bolme and Rob Schnapf (Either/Or), who referenced studio notes that Smith had left behind.
