After plenty of industry speculation, the initial line-up for the Electric Picnic has been announced.
Taking place at Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois on August 31, September 1 and 2, the third Electric Picnic will feature the likes of The Beastie Boys who'll play their first Irish show in over a decade and Iggy Pop And The Stooges, who've made the Electric Picnic date their only performance on the British Isles this year.

The elongated weekend will see favourite features return, such as the the Comedy Club; the Southern Comfort Crawdaddy Tent; the Bacardi B Bar; the burlesque house of Lost Vagueness; the Body And Soul Village; The Chapel Of Love; The Laundrettas Laundromat Of Love; the Leviathan debates - and of course the Hot Press Chat Room, which last year featured the likes of New Order, Bloc Party and DJ Shadow.
There'll also be new entertainment including a casino, a Village Green with a Village Hall, Fosset's Circus and a late night stage for impromptu performances.

John Reynolds of Pod Concerts added: "As always no matter what the line-up is or the changes made to the festival year on year, Electric Picnic wouldn't happen at all if it wasn't for the support and co-operation from the local council, Gardai and of course the residents of Stradbally and Laois. Last year we raised €65,000 which was distributed among several local charities."
Capacity for the festival remains at 32,500, which means they'll be quite the rush for the tickets, which go on sale tomorrow at e220 for three days camping.
