The latest addition to the Electric Picnic line-up is the Nokia Trend Lab stage, featuring Simple Kid, Nouvelle Vague and 65 Days Of Static, among others.
The Nokia Trend Lab (NTL) is a new initiative that provides a forum for showcasing musical talent in Ireland.
This year Electric Picnic will play host to an entire NTL stage, with a diverse line-up of Irish and international acts.
On Saturday September 1 the line-up looks like this:
Nouvelle Vague, White Rabbits, 65 days Of Static, The Little Ones, My Brightest Diamond, Kissaway Trail and Redkid.
And Sunday is made up by these acts:
Kieran Hebden & Steve Reid, Dub Pistols & Terry Hall, Sons & Daughters, The Aliens, Good Shoes, Switches and Oppenheimer.
More acts are due to be announced for both dates soon.
But before it takes to the Picnic, NTL has its launch gig this Saturday June 30 in Crawdaddy, featuring our own Simple Kid and Halves, along with US outfit White Rabbits. This gig will be followed by monthly events in the Dublin venue.
NTL’s big plans for the future include bi-monthly gigs in Tripod, Dublin to showcase great international acts in Ireland.
Tickets for this weekend’s launch gig are on sale now from usual outlets.
