15 weird and wonderful wheeled creations set for Stradbally
With Forbidden Fruit having blown away the cobwebs on the Team HP festival jallopy, it's not long until we'l be pointing it towards Co. Laois for this year's Electric Picnic; today, we got another update of what will be awaiting us in Stradbally come September.
The eccentric Trailer Park has grown to become an exciting mobiletropolis, and the call for designers to submit entries for this year's installation was answered by an army of creative types from all over. Today, the fourteen new offerings that will be on display at this year's spectacular were announced.
They are: GladRags & Glam Fags by Moe Coakley; The Viva Electric Picnic Chapel by Alex McHugh and Cian McKenna; Holodeck by Ian Fitzgerald & Terry Madigan; Caravan Mirror Maze by The Lucky Lot, Herbal Crest & Blas Café in association with The Chocolate Factory; The Funeral Parlour by Huxley Horror; The Bus That Fell to Earth by David Sumray; Plastic Fantastic by Mud Island Community Garden; The Trailer Tower. A Tall View! By Benny Magennis; Comedivan by Danny Dowling; The Degustation Teardrop by Angus Craigie; Caravan Obscura; Turn Your World Upside Down! By Sandra McAllister; Reciprocity by Rob Parkes, Art O’Laoire, Ken Coleman and Emma O’Brien; Silver Spacecraft (The Day the Earth Stood Still) by Garry St. George-Kennedy; Olde Worlde Travelling Show by Selena Kindersley.
Stylist behind Trailer Park, Roz Jellett said today “We put a call out to the public a few months back for some unique creations to add to the Trailer Park portfolio and that we did receive. With the help of interiors journalist Dara Flynn, Chairperson of the ID2015 Laura Magahy and the team behind Trailer Park we selected a further 14 trailers and caravans to join the weird but wonderful array of designs for a well-deserved spot for them to pull into at this years’ Electric Picnic”.
They join a few of the old favourites who'll be returning due to popular demand when the September 4-6 celebrations kick off.
