Eleanor McEvoy has teamed up with UK artist Chris Gollon, to form an intriguing creative collaboration.
Eleanor McEvoy releases her new album Naked Music in February 2016 and it features a fascinating collaboration, with well-known British artist Chris Gollon.
Eleanor's path first crossed with Chris when she purchased one of his paintings from a London gallery. The picture secured, she left Chris some of her music to listen to. Their first meeting however was in February 2015 when Eleanor happened to be playing a small show in Norwich at the same time Chris was having an exhibition there.
Chris and Eleanor hit it off immediately they met, and decided they should try to collaborate in the future. As yet, however, they had no idea how...
Eleanor was working on new material at the time and, according to her publicist Linda Coogan, "the recordings had a very exposed intimacy, so it seemed a possibility that Chris should be asked to do a painting for the cover in this solitary context."
Chris obliged. However, having heard some more tracks from the album, he was so impressed that he contributed four paintings to the project – two on the theme of nakedness and two others that related to specific songs, 'Dreaming of Leaving' and 'Lubbock Woman'.

The exhibition of Chris' paintings – including those inspired by Eleanor's music – starts in January 2016 and Eleanor will be playing a small, exclusive show at the exhibition.
Eleanor, meanwhile, has had a busy 2015. Earlier in the year she contributed music to Songs of Tibet II. The Art of Peace Foundation commissioned producer Rupert Hine to produce the album to celebrate the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday. Eleanor was in illustrious company: the other artists on the album included Sting, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Elbow and Bob Geldof.
More recently Eleanor collaborated with James Cramer to release a Christmas track, 'Snowflakes Fall'. This track is available to purchase digitally now.
