The Mancunians "floated on a tide of sweat" inside a heaving Other Voices hall.
A horde of in-the-know fans had already packed out the Other Voices hall long before Elbow took to the stage, leaving dozens of people crowding outside. When the band arrived on stage, they paid tribute to the work being done with Other Voices - from Stradbally to Dingle - and seemed genuinely appreciative that they had gotten the chance to come back.
Keeping things shor, they divided their 40 minute set between playing music and sharing stories. They also gave us a taster of what to expect later on in the night.
'Magnificent', from their newest album Little Fictions, produced an early sing-along, while 'Grounds For Divorce' tested the resilience of the crowd at the front, who valiantly danced and sang with Guy despite the sweltering heat.

They closed with the less familiar track 'Scattered Black and White', clearly leaving the big gun of 'One Day Like This' for the Main Stage.
Elbow will play the Main Stage at 9pm
