The dreadlocked Belfast boy, Duke Special, has announced a Christmas extravaganza in Dublin.
Fresh from releasing his debut V2 album, Songs From The Deep Forest, and touring Europe, the UK and Ireland with Divine Comedy (phew!), Duke Special will perform at the Gaiety Theatre in association with Phantom 105.2, on Monday, December 11.
For the special show, the dress circle will be transformed into a Victorian Christmas music hall, complete with mince pies and mulled wine for the show.
The concert will be recorded by Phantom and broadcast just before Christmas.
The Duke ‘Christmas’ Special will be limited to just 100 tickets, available from www.dukespecial.com. Fans will be able to get their hands on em for €15, plus a €1 booking fee, and they go on sale at 9am Thursday, November 16.
Remaining passes will be given away on Dublin’s Phantom 105.2 throughout the week of November 27.
In other Duke news, his next single, 'Freewheel', will be released in Ireland on February 2 2007. He'll be playing three more 2006 December shows, in support of Snow Patrol. One at The Odyssey Arena, Belfast on December 21 and two at The Point, Dublin on December 22 and 23.
Fans should keep an eye out for the issue of Hot Press which hits shops tomorrow (Thursday 16 November), where we catch up with the man himself in France.
