The Canadian rapper's album is enjoying the longest run on top of the charts since Adel's '21'
Drakes 'Views' album has remained in the number 1 spot of the Billboard chart for its ninth consecutive week.
The Canadian rapper's forth studio album, 'Views' features singles such as 'Hotline Bling' and 'Pop Style' and sold 2,000,000 copies in the US in six weeks, going double platinum. It is currently enjoying the most successful run at the top of the Billboard 200 since Adel's '21' in 2011.
The success of 'Views' is another accolade for Drake who has recently smashed a record previously held by Elvis for the most songs simultaneously in the charts.
The success of 'Views' and its lead single 'One Dance' are now challenging a longstanding record held by Michael Jackson for the longest run on the top of both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100.
Changes to the Recording Industry Association of America's charting system mean that 1,500 music streams are now equivalent to one full album sale. This is a massive boon for 'Views' which as had over a billion streams so far.
