It's taken a hip-hop legend to displace Ed Sheeran.
Fresh from his twin Croker sell-outs, Ed Sheeran seemed unstoppable at the summit of the Irish Albums Chart, with both his albums making up the top two for many weeks.
We've a new number one today, however, and after all the excitement and publicity, it could only be the returning Dr. Dre.
Compton, a record inspired by new NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton and Dre's first album this century, is the biggest-selling album in the country this week.
Making it an even more impressive feat is the fact that it is currently only available to buy on iTunes – the physical release doesn't arrive until August 21.
We'll have the full review of a record that features everyone from Kendrick and Eminem to Snoop and Ice Cube in our next issue.
Ed Sheeran's X moves down to second place, while Hozier's eponymous debut climbs a spot to secure third. Taylor Swift switches places with the Bray man, as Red sits at No. 4.
Familiar names feature just below that – Ed Sheeran's debut + rounds off the Top 5 and Swift's latest release, 1989 is at No. 6.
The Good Doctor aside, the next highest new entry comes in the form of Frank Turner's Positive Songs For Negative People (35). We will also have an in-depth chat with Frank in our next issue.
