Alabama 3’s lead singer Larry Love is just one of the well-known faces in the celebrated short, Don’t You Know Who I Am?...
Don’t You Know Who I Am?, the acclaimed rock‘n’roll short film written and produced by Hot Press' award-winning 'Writer-At-Large' Olaf Tyaransen, will be screened at Electric Picnic this Saturday.
Adapted from Tyaransen’s original story in the Doire Press anthology, Galway Stories, and shot in the city in November 2013, the film stars Alabama 3 lead singer Larry Love as Rick Rossi, who comes to Galway, still reeling from the death of his best friend, only to find out that his arrival causes a sensation.
Don’t You Know Who I Am? is directed by Paul Duane (Barbaric Genius, Very Extremely Dangerous) and features appearances from Paraic Breathnach, John O’Dowd, Hugo Seale, Gerry Conneely, Amanda Brunker, and cartoonist Tom Mathews.
The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2014 and was also selected for screening at the San Francisco Irish Film Festival. It was broadcast on RTÉ 2’s Shortscreen last Christmas.
Don’t You Know Who I Am? will be screened in the Theatre Tent in the Mindfield area of Electric Picnic on Saturday at 7pm, and followed by a public interview with Olaf Tyaransen.
