The actor talks to Roe McDermott about working on the latest Richard Curtis film and the prospect of working with his Dad on At Swim-Two Birds...
With new film About Time hitting cinemas this week, Domhnall Gleeson admitted to some degree of trepidation about taking on such a huge leading role.
"You think, if I'm going to fail, do I really want to fail in a movie of this scale, when I'm front and centre? So I was concerned. Not about being in a Richard Curtis movie but fucking up a Richard Curtis movie!"
He also spoke fondly about his experience working with Lenny Abrahamson and Michael Fassbender on the forthcoming Frank and of his hopes to work on his father's planned directorial debut At Swim-Two-Birds. A passion project for Brendan Gleeson, the proposed adaptation of Flann O'Brien's 1939 novel has been repeatedly held up due to funding issues.

"It's hugely frustrating," admits Domhnall. "I hope it works out before I'm too old to play the part, because I would also really like to work with my brother and my Dad again. They're two of my favourite people to collaborate with. I learn so much from both on set."
