Lunasa and Dervish are among the acts chosen to represent Ireland at the Conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters in New York.
Lunasa, Danu, Dervish, Grada and Beoga are among the musical members of the delegation Culture Ireland is dispatching to New York for the 51st Conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters in New York.
Described as “the key arts market for securing US performance opportunities”, APAP will also include a staging of Mark O’Rowe’s Terminus by the Abbey Theatre, and two networking events for delegates hosted by the Consulate-General of Ireland in New York.
“Leading a promotional mission to New York is a first for us,” says Culture Ireland CEO Eugene Downes. “It’s a great opportunity – some outstanding work is being produced, and artists and companies are now thinking and working in a global context. Securing tours to major US venues is hugely important for Irish artists in building their international reputation and career prospects.”
