The Dublin comedy star has 11 gigs to do – for a start!
David O’Doherty has announced a remarkable run of eight shows on the run-up to Christmas. The Southside comic plays Whelan's, beginning on December 12 and running straight through to December 18. There is a special matinee performance at 3pm on Saturday 13, bringing the number of shows to nine. The matinee is in aid of Poppy's Wheels.
In addition, he returns to the award-winning Dublin venue for three dates at the start of the new year, on January 2, 3 and 4.
"Last year demand was so high that the six pre-Christmas shows and an five extra dates added in January all sold out," a Whelan’s spokesperson told hotpress.com. "So the message is: get you tickets quickly."
The show is described as "an hour of talking and songs."
"Take a ride into the Davidzone," we are instructed. "One man. One small keyboard. With batteries. And a chair. And a mic. And cables. And a sound system. And then a room, obviously. With more chairs. And a lighting rig. It’s surprising how much stuff is involved actually."
