We're also looking forward to Northern Ireland World Cup footie film, Shooting For Socrates
The Belfast Film Festival kicks off on April 16 with the world premiere of I Am Belfast, a documentary look at the city through the eyes of a 10,000-year old woman.
It's the work of Mark Cousins, a maverick filmmaker who's co-directed experimental work with Tilda Swinton, and features a suitably turbocharged David Holmes soundtrack.
It closes on April 26 with The Survivalist, the tale of a ruthless loner doing what has to be done to survive in a post-apocalyptic Northern Ireland.
Directorial duties fall to Stephen Fingleton whose previous film, SLR, was Oscar-nominated and features a compelling starring turn from Falls Road thesp Martin McCann who's best-known for Clash Of The Titans.
Hot Press is also looking forward on April 24 to the premiere of Shooting For Socrates, a Good Vibrations-esque recalling of how Norn Iron went football crazy in the run up to the 1986 World Cup. With music curated by Snow Patrol, it looks like the perfect rock 'n' goal combination. The impressive cast includes Game Of Thrones, Good Vibes and Fortitude man Richard Dormer.
There will be over a hundred screenings in nine city-centre locations including the Festival's own Beanbag Cinema.
