David Bowie's lock of hair sold for $18,750
Prince’s Yellow Cloud guitar sold at the same auction.
A lock of David Bowie’s hair sold at a Los Angeles auction for $18,750.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Soi Dog Foundation, a charity in Thailand for animal welfare.
The lock was provided by an employee of London’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. She had used some of Bowie’s hair to make a wig for a wax figure of the rocker.
At the same auction, Prince’s Yellow Cloud guitar sold for $137,500. Both Prince and Bowie died earlier this year.
