Serge and co have pushed Chris Martin's lot hard as their 48:13 debuts at number two.
Despite plenty of new entries and much movement on the Irish Album Chart this week, Coldplay have retained their top spot. Their sixth studio album,Ghost Stories, has been at number one for a month now.
Giving them a good run for their money were Kasabian. The Leicester outfit's brand new LP, 48:13, entered the charts at No. 2.
Just below, Imelda May sees her Tribal hold firm at No. 3.
Jack White's second solo album, Lazarettodebuts in fourth position. It all means Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour drops from second to fifth, whilst Passenger debuts at No. 6 with his Whispers.
With Paolko Nutini, Kodaline and One Direction in seventh, eight and ninth respectively, sister act First Aid Kit see there Stay Gold LP debut at No. 10.
The Hot Sprockets' second record, Brother Nature makes a very respectable first appearance at No. 11, with Crow Black Chicken's Rumble Shake arriving just below.
