In My Place
With a career-defining Glastonbury show behind them and the A Rush Of Blood To The Head album to come, only a fool wouldn’t bet on this being Coldplay’s year. From its opening bars, ‘In My Place’ is a stunning calling card. After the often fragile beauty of Parachutes, this is a far more full blooded affair, but one that loses none of the tranquil emotion at its core. Chris Martin’s voice is particularly mesmerising, bedded in the gorgeous harmonies of the chorus. They haven’t exactly done too bad so far, but this is truly the sound of a band coming of age.
