The Cork-based musician drops the video for the second single from her debut album.
Having released her first LP Join Me at the Table back in October 2016, Clare Sands has premiered the title track from that album with Hot Press today. The single will officially be released on March 31, followed by an in-store performance at MusicZone in Cork on April 1.
Combining her deep roots in Irish Traditional and folk music with her love of jazz and blues, Clare’s musical style has a wide variety of reference points and takes as much influence from Nina Simone as it does from Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.
A moody tribute to long, debaucherous musical nights, ‘Join Me At The Table’ demonstrates Clare’s ability to blend folk, jazz and blues, while her alluring voice ebbs and flows throughout the piece.
In recent years, Clare has found herself performing from Manhattan to Mexico, as well as spending last Autumn touring alongside Irish folk singer Luka Bloom, who heaped praise on her musical style, saying: "The songs, the voice, the guitar playing; all happening at a very high level. Clare wears her rebel heart on her sleeve as well as her tongue. The future is very bright."
Clare continues to tour across Ireland. You can see her full listings below and find out more details at claresands.com.
