The festivities get underway this weekend and we've got the details.
Kicking off this Friday and running until Monday October 28, this year's Guinness Cork Jazz Festival will be headlined by the likes of Chic & Nile Rodgers, Primal Scream, the Mingus Big Band, Soul II Soul System, Courtney Pine, Billy Cobham and Ronan Guilfoyle.
Those names aside, there will be over 400 gigs also taking place in over 50 venues around the city, as well as a jam-packed Fringe programme.
Courtney Pine gets proceedings off to a start on October 25, and he says: “We are delighted to be back again in Cork and to be part of this year’s brilliant line up. It’s an amazing festival, one of the world’s best. Playing alongside Billy Cobham, Nile Rogers, and SoulIISoul’s Jazzie B will be incredible. As well as performing, we are going to take in as many performances as we can and soak up the very special atmosphere of the Festival."
