October 25 might just be the funkiest night of your life!
Two legends for the price of one is the deal on October 25 as Chic are joined by Chaka Khan for a BluesFest gig in Dublin’s 3Arena.
Regular visitors to Ireland in recent years, Nile Rodgers & Co. played an absolute stormer last Sunday at Glastonbury where, in tandem with Barry Gibb, they time warped Worthy Farm back to Studio 54. As he told the Pyramid Stage masses, the songs you thought Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, Sheila B. Devotion and Duran Duran wrote, are actually his. After several delays, a new Chic record featuring guest turns from the likes of Janelle Monae is due this year.
Recently a judge on the BBC’s Pitch Battle series, Chaka Khan has been funking for five decades, first as lead singer with Rufus and then as a solo star whose 1984 smash, ‘I Feel For You’, was a real musical milestone.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday July 7 priced.
