The distressing news from America is that one of George Bush’s mates has been implicated in a seedy sex for favours scandal. But that’s enough about being in the Republican Party…
Given the high esteem in which we hold George Bush and his political allies, Caught In The Net was sad to learn that Spokane’s virulently anti-gay Republican mayor, James West, has been outed as a practicing homosexual and accused of using his office to seek sexual favours from other men.
Reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (yup, that’s its full name): “West, 54, has been under fire since The Spokesman-Review reported allegations last week that he molested two boys while he was a sheriff’s deputy and Boy Scout leader in the late 1970s and early 1980s. As part of its investigation, the newspaper hired a computer forensics expert who posed as an 18-year-old male high school student in internet chats with West on Gay.com. West offered the ‘teen’ a City Hall internship, tickets to professional sporting events and other gifts, they reported.”

From there it’s but a mere mouse-click to www.potseeds.co.uk, which has details of the latest hallucinogenic du jour, Philosopher’s Stone Truffles.
“Fresh Philosopher’s Stone Truffles are technically not mushrooms and do not look anything like magic mushrooms; they’re closer to muesli or breakfast cereals,” they explain. “They give you a stoned, psychedelic, philosophical, happy and visual trip. Philosopher’s Stones only contain about 50% water. That’s why these fresh truffles will stay OK for several months when stored in the fridge. They have been developed in Holland following a recent ruling by the Dutch High Court, which banned dry magic mushrooms in the Netherlands.”
Completely legal in the UK, you can buy 15 grams of Mexicana Gold Truffles for £9.95 or a Grow Kit for £29, which will yield up to 150 grams of the little fellas.
While sadly there’s no Irish representation, the Bad Album Covers site at www.zonicweb.net/badalbmcvrs/ contains some corking exhibits from Sweden including Volumes 1 and 2 of Larz Kristerz’ Stuff Party.
Having marveled at their artwork, log on to www.larzkristerz.com to hear them doing their chicken-in- the basket cabaret boogie woogie thing.
Which just leaves time for quick visits to www.wagenschenke.ch (Mr. McDaid will love it); www.sixtiescity.com/startrek/LOST/Lost.htm (Hot Klingon babes); www.pinkboard.com www.pinkboard.com (ouch!).
