The American singer-songwriter Carly Simon is suing the American coffee chain Starbucks because she was not satisfied with the way they promoted her 2008 album This Kind of Love.
In response, Starbucks claim it fulfilled all its obligations concerning the CD, and they got only a "tepid response" to the album from their customers.
Simon, who was once married to James Taylor and who enjoyed massive international success with ‘You're So Vain’ and ‘Nobody Does It Better’, has not specified the level of compensation she’s looking for from Starbucks.
Her next album, Never Been Gone, is due for release later this month, but Starbucks are not involved.

Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell are among the other artists who had albums released through deals with Starbucks.
