Newcastle University handed him his Doctorate in Music.
Bryan Ferry of Roxy music has been honored by the university he once attended in the 1960s, as Newcastle University made him a Doctor of Music. Ferry graduated from the university in 1968 with a degree in Fine Arts before going on to form the iconic Roxy Music.
"Music and art have guided my life, and it all started at Newcastle University," said Ferry, who was clearly chuffed to be receiving such an honour.
"We are delighted to welcome back and honor one of our graduates who has achieved so much in his field," said Dr John Hogan, the registrar of Newcastle University."Newcastle University has an excellent reputation for education in art and music and Mr Ferry is a great example and inspiration to our students graduating in those disciplines this summer."

Ferry hasn't slowed down on his live performances, having just played at Dublin's National Concert Hall back in June.
