The Defiant Ones traces the careers of two of music's most innovative producers and will air on HBO next year.
Airing in four segments, The Defiant Ones charts the separate rises of Andre Romelle Young, a rapper and record producer commonly known by his stage name, Dr. Dre, and Jimmy Iovine, a record producer who has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Tupac, and Eminem during the course of his prolific career.
In 2006, Dr. Dre and Iovine teamed up to found Beats Electronics, a company that sells headphones, speakers, and other audio products.
Directed by Allen Hughes, the documentary follows the journey of these two producers, stopping to examine their influence on popular culture over the last few decades.
