Thankfully, some positive Womack-related news for the first time in a while. Still battling colon cancer and only recently released from hospital after being struck by pneumonia, none of that seems to have slowed down the soul legend's appetite for singing. On March 11, he's back with his first album of original material since 1994 and we now have the opportunity to check out the title track, 'The Bravest Man In The Universe'.
It bodes well for the parent album – Bobby puts in a typically moving, powerhouse vocal performance, while the production (courtesy of Damon Albarn and Richard Russell) couples speaker-trembling beats with a 21st century space-soul flavour.
