A 1962 interview with Bob Dylan has been animated by the PBS series Blank on Blank. The interview was originally conducted on New York City's WBAI radio station as part of its Folksinger's Choice show in February 1962. Other animated interviews from Blank on Blank include Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Johnny Cash, Bill Murray and Heath Ledger.
At the time of the interview Dylan was 20 years old and discussed his time working in a carnival and how the sight of the freak shows in the circus inspired a long forgotten song. Dylan also discussed some of the songs on the his then upcoming debut album. Dylan also spoke about playing harmonica for 6 and a half hours day in one of the NYC coffee houses for just one dollar a day and a cheeseburger.
Later in the video the interviewer asks Dylan, "when you're rich and famous are you gonna wear the hat too?". Dylan replies, "oh I'm never gonna become rich and famous".
