The music world has poured out protest tracks and tributes following the slayings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. Now, a huge multitude of musicians and actors have shared a new video calling out police killings of black people.
'23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black In America' features celebrities across a wide range of categories. There are beloved black comedians like Kevin Hart and Chris Rock, acclaimed actresses/social activists like Rosario Dawson and Taraji P. Henson, pop stars like Beyoncé and Adam Levine, and socially conscious rappers like Talib Kweli and Common.
Each celebrity names an everyday activity or slight offence that led to the killing of a black person by police officers, including holding a wallet, travelling to a Bible study, and missing a front licence plate.
The video was organized by Alicia Keys and her We Are Here movement.
