Following on from that epic performance with Coldplay at Glastonbury, Barry Gibb is just starting to get fired up.
This will be Gibb's first solo endeavor in 32 years.
Gibb's is going to release In The Now this coming autumn. He first shot to fame as a member of the Bee Gees, a prominent force in the disco scene of the 1960's and 70's. Barry's high-pitched falsetto gave the Bee Gees that unique flair that still has people up on their feet today, Unfortunately, Barry is the last surviving member of the Bee Gees today as his two brothers, Maurice and Robin, have passed away. Barry Gibb did he brothers proud however as he helped round out Coldplay's Glastonbury performance. Taking to the Pyramid Stage with them, Gibb sang 'To Love Somebody' and the iconic 'Stayin' Alive' and he proved he's still got it.
He has been working intensely on In The Now over the last couple of years and now that it's completed he's been testing the waters with his new material. At last year's Hard Rock Rising Miami Beach festival, Gibb took to the stage with a new track 'The Home Truth Song'. The record, which it being released through Columbia, has been as aspiration of Barry for years; This is a dream come true for me. It’s a new chapter in my life. I always hoped one day that The Bee Gees would be with Columbia or indeed Sony so, it’s a great joy for me to start again this way with such great people.”
