Hundreds of fans turned out at Dublin's Savoy for the screening.
Please Don’t Stop, a documentary which celebrates Dublin act Aslan's incredible 30 years together, premiered at Dublin's Savoy on Thursday night.
Director Paul Andrews told HP he's overwhelmed by the postive response to the film: “The three of us are very proud to have shown it to almost 800 people – we never expected the amazing reception, with the audience giving us a standing ovation for two to three minutes; which at the time was very surreal."
Intended to go to straight to DVD up until just eight weeks ago, Andrews hopes the warm feedback takes the documentary further. "If there's enough demand, we would love to show it in an independent cinema for a short run, to allow the fans that couldn't make it last night the opportunity to see it on the big screen”.
The event also coincides with the release of the band’s new album French Books and Nudies, with Christy and the lads also gracing the current issue of Hot Press, marking an all-round celebratory year for the Dublin group.
