Ash have pulled the planned release of a download-only mini-album, Evil Eye
There’s disappointment for Ash fans with the band canceling the online release of Evil Eye, an 11-track mini-album which, in addition to the title-cut, was to have included nine live tracks recorded in Vienna, the ‘Clones’ video and a playable demo of the Star Wars: Republic Commando game they’ve helped soundtrack.
The good news, according to a band spokesman, is that, “The band have just returned from a great co-headline seven week tour with The Bravery in the States and they are going to be concentrating on America for the rest of the year – although they are playing Glastonbury and some U2 shows in Europe in July. And also going to Japan again in the summer…so a lot’s going on!”
Ash certainly impressed Boston Herald scribe Linda Laban who had this to say about their sold-out Axis show: “Frontman Tim Wheeler and co-guitarist Charlotte Hatherely mixed their voices superbly, either trading off lines or harmonizing, adding those sweet pop tones that make Ash cute.”

As for those U2 supports, a change of plans means that Croke Park is off the itinerary but the Leitzgrund, Zurich (July 18); San Siro, Milan (20 & 21); and Stadio Olimpico, Rome (23) are very much on it!
