Ariana Grande Shares Emotional Post On Anniversary Of Attack

To mark first anniversary of Manchester Arena attack today, Ariana Grande has taken to Twitter this morning with a message of support for her fans and loved ones of those affected by the horrific event.

Twenty-two people were killed and hundreds injured when a bomb was detonated at the end of one of her concerts on 22 May 2017.

Later today to mark the anniversary, a service will be held at Manchester Cathedral at 2pm and a sing-along vigil. There will also be a national minute's silence at 14:30.

"Thinking of you all today and every day. I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day," Ariana wrote this morning.

Speaking last week to Time magazine, Ariana said: “The last thing I would ever want is for my fans to see something like that happen and think it won.

“Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day.”

Weeks after the attack, Ariana made an emotional return to Manchester to participate in a charity fundraising gig that raised more than £2 million for the families of victims.

The Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham also took to Twitter this morning to pay tribute. "Today we come together, we remember each of the 22 people whose lives were taken & we re-commit to supporting their families & all affected," he wrote.
