Dubliner Annie Mac is to takeover the BBC Radio 1 Monday-Thursday evening show slot vacated by Zane Lowe who, after 12 years, is heading to the States to work for Apple.
"The thing I love about music radio is those private epiphanies it provides," enthuses the recent Hot Press interviewee who will also continue to present her Friday night dance show. "Having 11 hours of airtime a week to share those moments with music that has no boundaries is beyond a job, it's a privilege.
"To be following in the footsteps of Zane Lowe, a broadcaster that I respect and admire enormously, is a huge honour. I can't wait to get started."
There's good news to for Belfast's Phil Taggart who's gaining custody of Mac's Sunday night Musical Hot Water Bottle programme.
Mac, who caught the DJ bug while studying at Queens, is also running her own Lost & Found festival in Malta from April 3-5 with Carl Craig and Duke Dumont among the headliners.
