Down The Way
Brother and sister act create classic english eccentric pop
Bridging the gap between Nick Drake, Kate Bush and Tegan and Sara, the Stone siblings’ second effort Down The Way is a mesmerizing, effortlessly dazzling piece of work. Trading vocal duties on a track by track basis, Angus’ voice mightn’t be as captivating as his sister’s coquettish croon but when they combine their talent together (much like the five kids in Captain Planet) they soar to the stars. Armed with the likes of ‘Black Crow,’ ‘Yellow Brick Road’ and ‘Walk It Off’, the Stones could have one of the break-through records of the year. Superb stuff.
