The now traditional musical celebration takes place this December 1-4.
Recent Hot Press interviewee and Dingle resident Aidan Gillen takes-over from BBC Radio One’s Annie Mac as the presenter of this year’s Other Voices extravaganza, which takes place in Kerry from December 1 to 4.
“I’m more than excited to be working on Other Voices this year,” enthuses Gillen who’s just finished shooting the second season of Game Of Thrones in the north. “I only became an actor in the hope of one day getting on Desert Island Discs and playing records – this way is better! I’ve spent a large part of the last few years at the end of the Dingle peninsula and witnessed first-hand how well this festival fits the place. Roll on December…”
The artists he’ll be introducing will be announced shortly.
In a departure from previous years, tickets to the St. James’ Church show will be made available through radio, print and online competitions, details of which will be made available through the Other Voices Facebook.

Airing on RTÉ Two early in 2012, there will be a second stage for emerging Irish talent sponsored by IMRO and live streaming of the action to various local hostelries.
Also taking place that weekend is Féile na Soilse – or the Festival of Light for the non-Gaelgoirs among you – which includes food markets, music trails and various Christmas-y treats.
May we also recommend whilst in Dingle that you sample Tom Crean’s, the winner of Hot Press’ artisan lager taste-test.
