Who doesn't love a John Le Carre spy story?
Following the recent success of the Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie show The Night Manager, Paramount are looking to adapt one of Le Carre's most famous books, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold into a miniseries.
The story centres on a disenchanted M16 spymaster, Alec Leamas, in Berlin, who has to choose between avenging his fallen colleagues or the freedom of retirement.
No cast has been confirmed, but Aidan Gillen is a hot favourite for the role of Alec Leamas. Gillen has proven with political roles such as Little Finger in Game of Thrones and Charles Haughey in Charlie, that he will fit perfectly into Le Carre's world.

The story is also set in the same universe as Le Carre's other hit Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with both Control (John Hurt) and George Smiley (Gary Oldman) playing significant roles.
Here's hoping they will reprise their roles so we can see the three acting heavyweights, Gillen, Hurt and Oldman vi for dominance on- screen.
